This set is available in various sizes (from 5cm/2inches – 22cm/8.6inches), you will receive 2 cutters in the set to make the two different parts of the bow. The listed size is for the measurement of the bow along the longest side once it has been put together.
This cutter is printed in PLA filament. This item is not food safe. The photo of the bisque item is for inspiration only, this listing is for the 3D printed cutter for you to make the bisque pieces yourself. The colour of your cutters may vary at any time and may be different from that shown in the photo.
Description
This listing is for an item(s) that is printed with PLA filament using a 3D printer. The photos alongside the main photo will show you bisque fired earthenware clay pieces made with the cutters / stamps and also some painted pieces for inspiration. You will also find extra inspiration in our gallery.
This item is perfect for making your own bisque to sell in your PYOP studio, for use within a pottery studio, or for your own handicrafts…. the only limit is your imagination!
The colour of your cutters and stamps may vary from those shown in the photograph.
After use, rinse in cool water (never use hot water and do not soak) and dry immediately. Store in a cool, dry place.
Instructions to make a bow…
- Roll out clay to 3-5mm thick (you’ll need thinner clay for smaller bows and thicker clay for larger clays)
- Dust the cutters with talc or cornflour when use to cut out the 2 parts of the bow
- Starting with the middle piece of the bow first…score the 2 end tabs and the centre and add slip
- Use the handle of a paintbrush to help roll the side of the bow into the middle and firm in place
- Repeat with the other side of the bow and smooth the middle where the pieces meet
- Wrap a sausage of clay around the middle of the bow to hide the join and add a little detaol
- Score the middle of the ‘tails’ piece and add a small amount of slip
- Score the back of the bow in the centre and attach the 2 pieces together and firm to secure
- Fettle all over with a damp paintbrush then leave to dry completely before firing
