Lily Pad Cutter And Stamp Set (Various Sizes Available)

This listing is for an item(s) that is printed with PLA filament using a 3D printer.  The photos alongside the main photo will show you bisque fired earthenware clay pieces made with the cutters / stamps and also some painted pieces for inspiration.  You will also find extra inspiration in our gallery.

This item is perfect for making your own bisque to sell in your PYOP studio, for use within a pottery studio, or for your own handicrafts…. the only limit is your imagination!

The colour of your cutters and stamps may vary from those shown in the photograph.

After use, rinse in cool water (never use hot water and do not soak) and dry immediately.  Store in a cool, dry place.

Instructions to make a frog on a lily pad…

1. Roll out clay to 7mm thick
2. Dust the lily pad stamp and cutter with talc or cornflour
3. Stamp the lily pad into the clay then use the cutter to cut around the stamped design
4. Cut away excess clay, remove the cutter then neaten up the edges with a needle tool
5. Make a ball of clay, roughly the size of a tennis ball
6. Hollow out the ball of clay then tap on a table to flatten out the base
7. Cut out what will be the frog’s tummy. We’ve used a heart cutter but you can choose whatever shape you fancy
8. Score and slip the tummy piece in place, close to the base of the frog’s body
9. Add whatever you’d like your frog to be holding. We’ve made frogs holding a little mushroom, a bee and a strawberry, the options are endless
10. Remember to score and slip anything you add
11. Make 4 pea sized balls of clay to be the frog’s arms and legs
12. Gently flatten the balls of clay, then score and slip
13. Score the 4 ‘corners’ of the tummy and firm the arms and legs in place
14. Score in a little smile for your frog
15. Make 2 balls of clay for the eyes. Tap them on the table to give them a flat base
16. Score the base of the eyes and the area at the top of frog’s head where you will attach the eye, then paint on slip
17. Firm the eyes in place and smooth out the join
18. Use the handle of a paintbrush to press into the eyes as pupils
19. Add 2 very small flattened balls of clay to make cheeks. Add whatever character or details you’d like, just remember to score and slip anything you add in place
20. Make a hole in the lily pad where you will attach the frog, for air clow
21. Score and slip the base of the frog and the area around the hole and firm the frog in place
